Day Trip: Ashland, NE

Located just 30 minutes from Omaha, Ashland is the perfect little day trip. Here's how to spend a morning in the town!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

COFFEE & BREAKFAST

Grab a hot cup of local coffee at The Beanery. Yes, there is an Ashland location for this charming coffee shop who roasts their own beans! If coffee isn't your drink of choice, grab a green apple smoothie instead!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Next, stop for pastries at Fariner Bakery. This European bakery and coffee shop is well-known for their specialty sourdough, golden croissants, and fresh baked cinnamon rolls. Spend some time over breakfast in the quaint, downtown dining room.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

SHOPPING

Once you are full of coffee and baked goods, stop by Salt Creek Mercantile (same owner as Fariner), and shop for handcrafted goods for the home. They are stocked with a variety of cookbooks, kitchen utensils, fried flowers, ceramics, and many other home goods.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Also, stop by Post Scripts Press to browse their selection of paper goods. They carry a carefully curated selection of beautiful books, handmade stationary, greeting cards, and journals. I decided to get a photo album here and can't wait to print off photos to fill it with!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

LUNCH

Don't miss Glacial Till Vineyard, located right across from Post Script! They specialize in wine, cider, and small plates, making this the perfect lunch stop. I got the carne asada tacos (pictured). Make sure to check out their Cider Club! You'll get different ciders every quarter, plus a discount at their shop.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

OUTDOORS

Spend some time on the trails! There are a few walking and mountain biking trails right outside the downtown area to get your legs moving.
