Everything you need to know about registering to vote in Nebraska for the upcoming election on November 5th!
ABOUT
Voting season is upon us, and each state has its own specific requirements and procedures. In Nebraska, residents must follow certain guidelines to ensure they are eligible to cast their ballots in November. This process typically involves verifying eligibility criteria, completing necessary registration forms, etc. So, we’ve put together a super easy guide to follow so that you have all the necessary information to be prepared at the polls!
REGISTRATION There are two important dates to remember for registration!
📅 October 18th: Last day to register to vote online or by mail
📅 October 25th: Last day to register to vote in person
If you aren’t sure if you’re currently registered, you can visit votercheck.necvr.ne.gov/voterview. You CANNOT register to vote on voting day in Nebraska, so make sure to prepare ahead of time!
WHERE TO VOTE There are tons of voting locations around Omaha, and your polling place is determined based off your address. To find your designated polling place, we recommend visiting votedouglascounty.com! If you’ve recently moved or have a different address than the one you had last time you voted, your registration may be under an old address and therefore your polling place will be connected to that one and not your new address. So make sure to double check your registration forms to make sure everything is up to date before voting day!
WHAT TO BRING TO THE POLLS If you are planning on voting in person, make sure to bring a valid form of identification, like a drivers license or birth certificate. Again, it is super important to register PRIOR to voting day! For more useful information about voting registration, click here!
