Try Authentic Puerto Rican Cuisine at Elie's Chinchorro

ABOUT Elie’s Chinchorro is a unique dining experience where you can indulge in some of the best authentic Puerto Rican cuisine in Omaha. This eatery is a huge landmark for the owner, Elie Berchal. When her restaurant license was approved, she was told that she would be the first Puerto Rican woman in the state to own a restaurant. The main goal of Chinchorro is to bring the culture of the Caribbean here to Nebraska. Chinchorro—a Puerto Rican term for a small family-run restaurant, serves up delicious plates and feel-good tunes all day. When you walk through the doors of her restaurant, it feels as though you entered a portal straight from Omaha, Nebraska to Puerto Rico!

MENU ITEMS This restaurant is the perfect combination of traditional and modern features and specializes in Puerto Rican dishes such as pinchos—grilled, generously seasoned meat skewers, a staple in Elie’s home country of Puerto Rico. The mofongo, particularly with fried pork, is super tasty. The red beans and rice are excellent, too. There are also empanadillas, alcapurrias, sorullitos de maíz, and so much more to choose from. LOCATION & HOURS Elie’s Chinchorro is located at 3020 S 32nd Ave, and is open on Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11am to 8:30pm, Sundays from 11am to 6pm, and are closed on Mondays. Make sure to keep an eye out for their lunch specials that run through 11am to 3pm, and happy hour deals that run through 3pm to 5pm!
